Music (mp3s)

Painted Alice - Through the Canvas 3.57MB - This music is an edited version of what I wrote for a production of Painted Alice that I did with the Theater Alliance. The complete piece was broken into numerous sections that could be called on cue when certain actions took place - such as Alice touching the painting and being pulled through the painting.

The Court's Entrance 1.34MB - Also from Painted Alice, this music was written for the court entrance at the beginning of the trial scene.

Trouble Theme 705KB - This music was used for the VSAarts production of The Trouble with Being Inspiring.  Most of the transition music and underscoring for the play was based upon this composition.  The variations switched instrumentation, tempo, and added or omitted parts.

Trouble Underscore 980KB - This is a version of that theme being used to underscore an internalized monologue about the lead character's disability.

Andromeda Shack Intro Rave 707KB - This music is for a rave at that kicks off Andromeda Shack.

Andromeda Shack End Rave 544KB - This music is for the end of Andromeda Shack. We see Medusa place a bomb at center stage. She presses a button and this music starts. Once the tempo accelerates to 200bmp, the bomb explodes and the building implodes.

Love's Thorn 581KB - Underscoring for a poem

Zofia 689KB - Zofia's theme for DP

Bee Luther Hatchee Intro 2.6MB - This music leads into the beginning of Bee-Luther-Hatchee. As the house lights fade, we hear the sound of a train and then this old-time blues style music. We see an old woman walking through gigantic panels. The music gets more active and tense as she starts running away from something. The lights fade and the music returns to the slow paced intro as lights come up on the first scene.

Sound Effects, Processing and Mixing samples: (mp3s)

Catapult 376KB - A fantastical catapult that shoots two kids to the moon in tigertigertiger

KentSt 1.5MB - An audio montage of soundbytes from and about the Kent State shootings. This was the intro to Cellophane Xerox at the Theater of the First Amendment.

Factory 289KB - The sound of the factory in John Gabriel Borkman's mind.

Processed Voices 364KB - This was used in a production of Inspecting Carol. The concept is that a small theater is producing A Christmas Carol, but they do not have enough actors so they are using prerecorded voices for some lines. In this cue, things go wrong and the reel-to-reel starts to eat the tape for the voice overs.

Round Midnight with Night FX 917KB - This serves to cover a scene change as well as set the mood for a scene. In the scene an elderly lady is at home with a window open, waiting for someone to come home. It is a lonely and solitary moment.

Airport with Music and Effects 680KB - This sets the scene where someone has been let down and must leave the country. She is at the airport getting ready for her flight. The music covers the transition and set the mood. The announcement and effects set the location.

Car and Traveling Music 561KB - This is for an upbeat transition where two people have just hopped into a car for a weekend getaway and are speeding out of town.
